November

So... yeah. I guess it's month 11 already. Almost month 12. Hard to believe, but true. I didn't mean to neglect this little blog. It just has taken a backseat to school, work, sleep. I'm now in the home stretch for the semester -- a little less than three weeks and I'll be done. And I CAN'T WAIT.

What little knitting I've done, here and there, has been on Wisteria. I'm now just about done with the body. I reckon this will be knit in about 2 days -- once I can sit down and focus on it.

Wisteria in Progress

We spent a couple of hours raking the leaves in the yard this weekend. We try to wait until the trees are almost all naked before we do it, so we only have to do it once. The downside is it yields a lot of leaves. I think we're looking at 15 bags full (we got to 9 but ran out of the bags from the city, so we have to get more).

While we were working on yard stuff, I decided to tear down what was left of my garden plants. The dead tomato vines, fruitless cucumber plants -- all gone. And then I saw what I thought might be weeds and pulled them up. Not weeds but carrots!

Baby Carrots

The longest one is about 3 inches in length but they're all actually pretty fat. I was so surprised!! I planted the carrots from seed and never saw signs of life. Apparently I stopped looking about 2 months too soon. The lesson there is to start them MUCH earlier next year.

I leave you with some puppy pictures. Sam is now almost 11 months old, and he's more than 55 pounds. And he loves the leaves!
