January 30, 2008Well HelloI'm not even going to pretend to make excuses for my bloggy absence... it seems like I need to figure out a better rhythm to posting. Clearly "posting on mornings when I'm not totally rushing around" means that I go for a long time without posting. Ah well, such is life. Things are a mite bit busy around here right now. I'm trying to figure out what I was thinking of when I signed up for two of the hardest classes I'll take in grad school at the same time. And threw a couple of seminars on top of there. The end result is that my brain is letting me down in other ways. Yesterday I drove 25 miles at rush hour to get my student ID, only to show up and find out I was A DAY EARLY. Ooof. At least today I know how to get there. So it won't be shocking to know that the knitting has been rather small-scale as of late. But look! A sock! That's a good bit of a Loksins! sock. The first one was sent to me by Chawne as part of the Single Sock Swap. I had been a little intimidated by the pattern, but I think my brain was playing a trick on me. It's so addictive, and it goes so fast! I told Steph that this was a great successor to Monkey socks. It's going pretty quickly despite the fact that I have next to no time to knit right now. And I love the yarn - Cabin Cove Fingering, which I've never worked with before. The color is actually a little deeper and plummier than pictured. *** Stacey told me recently that I made her day. Thanks Stacey (and back atcha)!! Now I'll return the favor... here are 10 bloggers (in no particular order!) who regularly make my day.
1. Shanti It's hard to keep the list to just 10, of course. I read a ton of blogs and use them to stay inspired and motivated throughout the day. When you have a little cubicle with no views, it's so nice to be transported to someone else's backyard or knitting chair! Comments
what a pretty sock! I have some of his yarn also and the sock is holding up really well....hopefully you'll have more time to knit on it soon!!! i love this little exchange - I find more new blogs this way! Posted by: stacey at January 30, 2008 08:22 AMReally? Thanks, Ann! That's a mighty awesome sock you're a-workin' on. Would it be possible to see it this evening? Posted by: Elspeth at January 30, 2008 08:38 AMLove the new sock! The color is just gorgeous :) Posted by: Jody at January 30, 2008 07:16 PMLoksins looks so pretty! I started one a couple months ago but got distracted by a shiny thing or something. Posted by: Michelle at January 31, 2008 07:39 AMAw, thanks!! And your Loksins sock looks *great*. I can't believe I'd forgotten about that pattern! Posted by: Amy at February 1, 2008 02:19 PM |
