August 11, 2006Look!The new RYClassic books are out, at least for a small preview: [Be patient. Laughing Hens was slow for me, but it has the best previews I've found.] I see several things that could very possibly make their way onto my ever-growing to-do list:
I know a lot of people have written recently about how the new Rowan 40 doesn't suck, and I agree. But I still think that the photography and styling in Rowan is too cluttered for me to really tell whether I like a garment. What can I say? RYClassic has stolen my heart, and I'm not too ashamed to admit it. Of course, there are a few RYClassic misfires. Love isn't blind, you know. For instance, no man should ever, EVER wear bobbles.
Have a great weekend. I plan to spend mine knitting near a campfire and sleeping under the stars. Posted by Ann at August 11, 2006 07:16 AMComments
Bobbles on a guy - that is pretty funny. I do love RYC patterns as a whole though. Classic and tasteful (and cabely!!) Posted by: stacey at August 11, 2006 07:44 AMJust when I let my rowan sub expire! darn it! I love all the knits you put up...especially Peace. SO pretty. Fall is right around the corner! :) Posted by: heather at August 11, 2006 07:46 AMAfter seeing the Classic preview in Rowan 40, I actually put Peace and Cambridge on my list of want-to-knit for this winter, too. I love both of them. We could do a knit-a-long :) Posted by: Erin at August 11, 2006 08:32 AMNow you've gone and done it... I am in love with RYC! More books to buy! (and the yarn will undoubtedly come later...) Wow, totally loving Peace and Comfy Cables. Posted by: Lolly at August 11, 2006 08:48 AMThanks for the preview. I have been waiting to get a look, and I agree with all your choices. Hard to pick just one! And that bobble thing, I am TRULY embarrassed for that guy. Poor thing. Posted by: Niki at August 11, 2006 10:40 AMI'm with you--- it's time to cable! Posted by: LauraRN at August 12, 2006 05:15 PMOMG, I MUST have the Classic Alpaca to make Cambridge. Could this be the perfect vest pattern I've been looking for? I can't wait to get my hands on that beauty. Thanks! :D Posted by: isel at August 14, 2006 07:39 AM |
