April 14, 2006AlterationsSo I took my dress last night to get some small alterations done to it. The tailor was a wrinkly four-foot-tall Peruvian woman who came highly recommended; she marveled at the lace on my dress. Irish lace, she said -- I take this as a good sign, me having some Irish heritage and all. The alterations came with a side of God, though, and not just because of the abundance of Holy Mother figurines gracing the shelves and the dressing room floor. [Rivaled by the 21x36 framed picture of Reagan in the dressing room... that's not something you want to see while getting undressed.] The good news is that the alterations were about 2000% less than I expected to pay AND they're going to be ready in less than a week AND she's going to pray for my soul, since I'm living in sin for the next 3 weeks. It's a risk, she explained, to have so much temptation around me. All this promiscuriosity ends up with girls in bad situations. That might be my new favorite word. That's the funniest blog entry I've ever read! Thank you for going where I dare not! Hope your dress turns out beautiful! Posted by: Leyna Faye at April 15, 2006 04:35 AMHmmm... Living in sin, are you? Well isn't that SPECIAL!!!! (I'm actually hard pressed to think of anyone I know who's in a relationship who isn't.) The dress sounds beautiful, and you're going to be beautiful in it. Have fun with the temptation. One can never be too promiscurious, if you ask me. Posted by: LauraRN at April 15, 2006 04:57 AMWell - if you are the traditional type, you now have *something Old* to fufill your Bride List - this lady gave you an Old School Self-Rigtheous blessing under all the preachin'. One less thing to think about Bridie... :) Posted by: Bonne Marie at April 15, 2006 06:51 AMI think I was promiscurious once! ;-) *giggles* Posted by: Janet at April 16, 2006 08:15 AMI love it... hysterical :) Posted by: stinkerbell at April 17, 2006 03:39 AMha! Being promiscurious must be when you're just exploring the possibility of being a slut. Who is she? I seriously need a tailor...and one who has God on her side will be a plus for my weird shaped bod. Nothing EVER fits me! Posted by: Niki at April 17, 2006 10:44 AMPromiscuriosity is my new favorite word -- that's better than strategery! Posted by: gwen at April 18, 2006 06:42 AMI, too, believe that promiscuriosity would best be defined as when a person is thinking or daydreaming about promiscuous behavior ... Call the OED, I love this word!! Posted by: Erin at April 18, 2006 07:57 AMYou had me laughing out loud on this one! ;) You are too funny. Good to hear that you found a good seamstress with reasonable prices! I saw you on the Mason-Dixon blog! Posted by: Lolly at April 18, 2006 08:37 AM |
