November 14, 2005Banner WeekendWhat a great weekend. The weather was gorgeous so I got to take a long walk outside one day. What amazing things that does for my state of mind. The trees are all turning, and the rustle of leaves just cheers me. Miracle of miracles, I actually got some knitting done. Friday night I had a hot date with my needles and Crash, and by the end of the movie, the sweater was on the blocking board.
And, the next morning, I got up and seamed that little baby boatneck together:
And then, Sunday brought even more cheer -- after many hours of hard work, our kitchen is finally put together! (Well, almost. We're still at a loss as to the curtains, so right now there are sheets over the windows.) But the food and dishes are all put away, and there are no more boxes in the kitchen. And here's a view of the new hutch -- aka storage for cookbooks and liquor.
[Again, mad props to Erin for helping with the cabinets!]
So, that's another room down. The only immediate room in need of major help is the living room, since stupid Hecht's is now saying that our furniture won't be in until January. Forget them ... we found some nice furniture this weekend, and they can deliver it this week! Thank heavens for small miracles. Posted by Ann at November 14, 2005 06:53 AMComments

What yarn did you end up using? The color is fantastic, by the way. Posted by: Amanda at November 16, 2005 08:46 AMI love your new kitchen....looks so cozy. Posted by: Maggie at November 16, 2005 11:26 AMWow...things are coming together great. I love your kitchen. We have just agreed to do some kitchen remodeling ourselves. Ours will involve tearing down a wall and reworking ventalation...ugh. Got to love our old houses eh! Adorble sweater. The simpler the cuter in my book.
